I really thought for sure that by the time soccer season started, I would already have this baby.
I guess I was wrong.
Devun had his first soccer meeting on Thursday, and practice starts this Tuesday. He’ll have practice three days a week. Zack has his meeting on Tuesday, and I’m still not sure when his practices will begin.
Marissa was supposed to have a meeting last week too, but most of the kids were out of town, so they decided they’ll just talk after the first practice this week instead.
For family night, we get to go buy all the kids new soccer shoes and shin guards.
Ava is upset that she can’t play soccer yet, so I decided to put her in gymnastics instead. She’ll have a free trial class next week, and if she likes it, she’ll start lessons once a week when school begins.
Honestly, I decided it would be cheaper to put her in some kind of dance or gymnastics class instead of preschool this year. Then next spring she can attend Clayton Valley Preschool.
She’s such a smart little girl already. She knows all her letters and numbers and can even write her name. She can go with me to the gym and play with friends, and I’m hoping we can start another playgroup this year… but we’ll see.
Zack starts kindergarten soon and is VERY excited about it.
Anthony should finish the kitchen project he’s working on within the next week or so, and then I get the joy of taking all the kids back-to-school shopping. I think this year we’re sticking with Ross and Walmart.
This week, I changed my outlook about this baby coming.
I have absolutely no control over when he decides to arrive. Obviously, he is NOT like my other children and wants to stay inside a little longer.
My doctor thinks he’s already around seven pounds, and of course, she decided to go on vacation, which means I won’t be getting induced anytime soon.
Ava’s birthday is next Saturday, and I really don’t want to have the baby on or too close to her special day. She’s been so excited for her birthday, even though I told her we won’t plan a party until after the baby comes. To her, it’s still HER day, and that matters.
Anthony’s parents leave for Canada on the 9th, so if I’m still pregnant by then, it may mean all the kids will end up at the hospital with us again.
Honestly, even writing that thought down terrifies me.
But the Lord knows what I can handle and what I can’t. I just have to trust that everything will work out the way it’s supposed to.
Lately, I’ve been going to the farmers market on Saturdays. The fruit tastes so much better fresh from the market than from the grocery store.
Yesterday I took the kids for a walk around Heather Farm Park, secretly hoping all the walking would help get things started. We climbed this huge hill, and let me tell you — I am SO out of shape.
I think I might go back to the gym tomorrow and try to retrain myself a little. I really don’t have much else to do right now, and Anthony doesn’t start work until 9 anyway.
