Our trip was great! The only downside was that I had to eat every two hours to keep from getting sick. So other than Anthony and Brad thinking I was a pig the entire trip, we had an amazing time.

The ocean was so clear, warm, and beautiful. We spent at least twenty minutes every day out in the waves until they completely beat us up and we had to get out from exhaustion. I seriously have bruises to prove it. But riding the waves on our little Costco body boards was so much fun. By the end of the trip, Anthony and Brad had even talked one of the shop owners downstairs into trading the boards for some really nice domino sets.

The hotel had five different pools facing the beach, so we could swim while watching the waves crash onto the sand. It was honestly so peaceful and beautiful.

The first day we mostly just swam and relaxed. Then day two was the boys’ big fishing trip. They were convinced they were going to catch huge fish and bring them home. Poor Anthony got horribly seasick about five minutes into the boat ride and spent the next five hours throwing up over the side of the boat. I kept trying to convince him and Brad to turn around because I could tell how miserable he was, but both of them are way too stubborn. After all of that, they only caught four small fish and ended up letting the captain keep them. The rest of the day Anthony spent laying down trying to recover, though we did eventually go swimming later that evening.

Day three was Anthony’s golfing day. I was so exhausted I couldn’t even drag myself out of bed to go ride the zip lines. I ended up sleeping until almost 1:00 in the afternoon, got a massage at 4:00, ate dinner, and then basically went back to bed again. I don’t know if it was the 4 a.m. wake-up call the day before, being pregnant, or just constantly going nonstop, but my body clearly needed the rest. Thankfully, all that sleep helped me enjoy day four a lot more.

Day four we got up early and walked through town shopping. We bought gifts for all the kids and a few things for ourselves too. Later we went on the La Princesa and took a snorkeling trip to a little cove. That was probably one of my favorite parts of the trip. There were fish swimming practically within arm’s reach. Anthony started feeling a little sick again on the boat ride, but thankfully he took some medicine beforehand and managed not to throw up this time. It was nice to finally do something fun together besides swim, eat, and shop.

Day five was mostly spent relaxing around the hotel and lodge because it was SO hot outside. We made one last trip into town for tacos, which somehow turned into hiding in the mall to cool off. We got to the airport two hours early and just hung out until our flight. Luckily the flight home was fast and on time. We got home around 8:30, gave the kids all their gifts, listened to their stories, and then all passed out together in our bed.

I missed the kids SO much while we were gone. It was so fun hearing all about everything they did while we were away. They had such a good time with Mattie and Ashleigh, which made being gone a little easier.

Overall, it was such a great trip. I’m very happy to be home, completely exhausted, but I’m pretty sure sleep will fix that.
