weekend update
We have been doing some stuff around here! The problem is, by the time I actually have a minute to sit down and write about it, I’ve completely lost what it was I wanted to share. So here is me trying to catch up on everything all at once.
I have Mondays and Fridays off this year, and I really wanted to use that time to work on me and my business. Last year, working every day just wasn’t giving me the time or energy to do either one.
Friday, I had a newborn session. It was with family, so things went a little crazy and the session ended up being a LOT longer than I had planned. But honestly, the pictures are cute, and babies are only this tiny for such a short amount of time. So sometimes you just go with it!
Saturday, I went over to Zack and Emily’s and took the baby on a 1.5-mile hike. I took Dallas with me because he needed his walk, too. Zack decided at the last minute to join us, and we had such a great time.
I am sad that they are moving to Conroe, but I totally get it. Their rent is cheaper, and their new apartment is SO much nicer. The weather was beautiful, and I’m already realizing I’m going to have to start driving about 20 minutes to get my walks with the baby. Totally worth it, though!
After our walk, Anthony came and picked up Dallas and dropped Charlotte off, and we helped Zack and Emily pack up.
Then we came home, I edited for a little while, and then Will, Anthony, and I went to lunch. We picked up the ice chest from the storage unit and got ready for our bartending gig.
If you’re new here, Anthony and I got our bartending licenses at the beginning of the year. We eventually want to open a small bar, but until then, we decided we’re going to travel around and bartend weddings, parties, and events.
And Saturday was our FIRST WEDDING!
I have to say, I had a lot of fun. It was fun getting to know new people and getting to witness a wedding from a completely different perspective. And not having a million photos to edit afterward was pretty nice, too! 😂
Sunday was spent taking stuff out of our bedroom storage and moving it into our big storage unit.
We are going to remodel our bathroom, and I AM SO EXCITED.
I’m getting a walk-in shower AND a BIG bathtub!!!
We currently have this gross bathtub that I absolutely hate. So I am more than ready for this upgrade.
The closet that currently has all of my photography props in it is going to become my nice, BIG walk-in closet. My old closet is going to become our walk-in shower.
Basically, this is my birthday, Christmas, and every other holiday gift for the foreseeable future. 😂
Since we didn’t do ANY chores over the weekend, that left everything for me today.
And, of course, our dryer broke.
Anthony ordered a third part for it, and it should be here Wednesday. But I did NOT want to be left with a million loads of laundry, so today I went to the laundromat and washed all of my bedding.
I also bought NEW bedding for my bed today. I want my room to be nice and clean for my grandbaby, so new sheets and a new comforter were a must!
He has super sensitive skin, so I washed everything in special laundry detergent for him. I’m going to put it all on the bed early Friday morning.
So today was basically Walmart, Costco, lunch with the hubby, cleaning my bathroom, cleaning my bedroom, editing photos, the gym, walking the dogs, and the laundromat.
Not necessarily in that order. 😂
This morning, when I went to the gym with Janice, we had a substitute for our normal class. We decided to skip the class and go do cardio instead.
Dallas has SO much energy, and I’m starting to train for a 10K this year, so I’ve started running him at night. Running on the treadmill and running outside definitely target different parts of your legs, because I am SORE from all the outdoor miles we’ve been running.
So I decided to take tomorrow off. And now for the part I am REALLY excited about…
This weekend, Emily and Zack are babysitting, and Anthony and I are heading to California to see Marissa and Ava for my birthday!
I am SO, SO excited. I don’t get to see my California girls nearly as much as I would like, so getting to spend my birthday with them is honestly the best gift I could ask for.
I’m already counting down the days!
Tomorrow is my actual birthday, and I’ve decided to take the day off from running because… well, it’s my birthday, and I can. 😂
I am going to do Pure Barre with my boss, but that’s pretty easy compared to the morning classes I normally take, so I think that counts as a birthday workout without completely destroying my legs.
